Lieutenant John Pike, the UC Davis cop who became famous after dousing Occupy protesters with pepper spray, was awarded $38,055 today for “psychological injuries” he suffered when he was exposed for his actions. The images of Pike spraying the protesters were isolated, and placed into various different scenes from the World Trade Center to the Sistine Chapel and everything in between. Pike says those images, combined with the more than 17,000 angry or threatening e-mails, 10,000 text messages and hundreds of letters he received after the video went viral, psychologically scared him so bad, that he could not go to work any more.
