Following on Iran’s drone and missile retaliation against Israel, the Islamic Republic has warned that any further retaliation by Israel will be met with further escalation. Israel, it might go without saying, loves that sort of thing and is very much looking forward to getting the United States into a war with Iran. That project has been underway for many years, and though the neocons have been removed from most positions of public influence, their level pulling behind the scenes evidently continues.
It’s driving people nuts. Literally. A new study finds a greater than ever number of people are being classified as “neurodivergent” in adulthood. Neurodivergence is a catch all term for a variety of issues including autism and dyslexia. It is all part of our societal effort to pretend there is no such thing as a disorder, only diversity, which is, needless to say, our greatest strength.
Newsrooms all over the country are finding, much as Nicky Santoro (played by Joe Pesci) did in the movie Casino, that hiring criminals has predictable consequences. As Santoro narrates in Casino;
“You gotta know that a guy who helps you steal, even if you take care of him real well, I mean, he’s gonna steal a little bit extra for himself. Makes sense, don’t it? Right?”
The same problem arises with hiring subversives to work your newsroom. People who will subvert, sabotage, and discredit their country, might be prone to doing so against their employers as well. Such has been the case with some frequency, according to a piece in the Wall Street Journal.
